Leonardo 50th International Celebrations:
Initiated and co-presented by Nina Czegledy, Chair, Leonardo 50th Committee

The Leonardo 50th Celebrations honor the interdisciplinary spirit of Frank J. Malina rocket science pioneer and kinetic artist who established in 1968 the Leonardo academic journal for artists with the peer-review rigor of a scientific journal. The journal is published by MIT along with a book series. These days Leonardo expanded further activities such as the global LASER (Leonardo Art & Science Evening Rendezvous) network, podcasts, educational activities etc.

The 50th Celebrations evolved spontaneously since June 2017 around the world. The primary aim is to present events in central as well as distant locations. The Hosts determine the theme and format of the events, thus each Celebration is different. There is an emphasis on art * science focused events with active involvement by the emerging generation. I had the privilege to initiate and co-present 26 Celebrations in 23 countries.
